WASHING MACHINE HOSES | A SILENT DANGER
One of the single largest loses and damage to residential property occurs when the washing machine, a silent danger, ruptures ones of its hoses. These hoses are under constant water pressure (usually 30-50 psi). In addition, contrary to popular belief, when these hoses rupture there generally isn't a mechanism (safeguard) in place to prevent the water flow. Too often, a homeowner leaves home for a trip and (after failing to turn off the water in the household before their departure) return to find significant water damage to their home. There are two steps a homeowner can take to prevent this from happening: 1) turn off the water supply to the home during any prolonged trip, and 2) inspect the traditional rubbers hoses and replace with reinforced hoses.
